Brand New Eyes.

The Grammy-nominee, Tennessee-based rock band, Paramore released their third studio album, Brand New Eyes, a few weeks earlier. Since then, the album has been getting a lot of buzz in the music scene. Not only did it made it to the #2 in the Billboard Charts [just below Barbara Streisand and beating Mariah Carey] but also because fans and music listeners are eager to know what the band has put up.

The album opens up with Careful, a track which is similar to the typical Paramore song but better. Second to it is the hit single Ignorance. Much like Careful but with a heavier sound plus a very remarkable line "Ignorance is your new bestfriend" speaks out. Playing God is more of like the soft song turned heavy type of song with lyrics like "Next time you point a finger, I might have to bend it up or break it break it off" Brick by Boring Brick is one of my faves. It opens with a heavy beat and the dual guitar rythms really work great in this song. Turn it Off, Feeling Sorry, Looking Up and the pop-ish track Where the Lines Overlap are just as great.

Something different from the band are the songs Misguided Ghosts and The Only Exception. The slow acoustic ballad makes these two songs standout among the rest. Hayley's voice shows a different side, a side I've never heard since most of their songs are heavy.

S0mething negative? The album only has 11 tracks. After you hear the album, you would say, "The album is so good! I want more!"

To sum it all up, I think that Brand New Eyes is a great album. A true example of art. From the lyrics to the beat.

To this, I could say that Brand New Eyes is one of Paramore's best yet. It's a must-have and a true gem in your CD rack.
