i wanna find the end.

I want High School to end. Period.

I have no idea why or what made me want it to end but I just know that I want it to end. I wanna start college and get out of the not-so-happy life of High School.

I wanna experience college already. I wanna be responsible enough and to study my field of specialization [which I still don't know]

I hope that I really could finish college before the world ends .And oh, is it just me or it seems like the world is about to end? Earthquakes, super typhoons, tsunamis and wars. Does it ring a bell? Have you read the Bible? The Revelations? Read it and you'll know what I mean.

Time to wake up and come to God, people. He's the source of everything.

"No Jesus, no peace. Know Jesus, know peace."

Brand New Eyes.

The Grammy-nominee, Tennessee-based rock band, Paramore released their third studio album, Brand New Eyes, a few weeks earlier. Since then, the album has been getting a lot of buzz in the music scene. Not only did it made it to the #2 in the Billboard Charts [just below Barbara Streisand and beating Mariah Carey] but also because fans and music listeners are eager to know what the band has put up.

The album opens up with Careful, a track which is similar to the typical Paramore song but better. Second to it is the hit single Ignorance. Much like Careful but with a heavier sound plus a very remarkable line "Ignorance is your new bestfriend" speaks out. Playing God is more of like the soft song turned heavy type of song with lyrics like "Next time you point a finger, I might have to bend it up or break it break it off" Brick by Boring Brick is one of my faves. It opens with a heavy beat and the dual guitar rythms really work great in this song. Turn it Off, Feeling Sorry, Looking Up and the pop-ish track Where the Lines Overlap are just as great.

Something different from the band are the songs Misguided Ghosts and The Only Exception. The slow acoustic ballad makes these two songs standout among the rest. Hayley's voice shows a different side, a side I've never heard since most of their songs are heavy.

S0mething negative? The album only has 11 tracks. After you hear the album, you would say, "The album is so good! I want more!"

To sum it all up, I think that Brand New Eyes is a great album. A true example of art. From the lyrics to the beat.

To this, I could say that Brand New Eyes is one of Paramore's best yet. It's a must-have and a true gem in your CD rack.

love drunk.

So last Thursday, we had a sea-food night. Yeah. Lots of sea food. Complete from crabs to shrimps to mussels to fish to calamares.

I was eating erratically. Okay wait. There's a hyperbole about that. My sister and I ate half of the total baked mussels [our favorite] and I ate a LOT of neatly-prepared calamares. Gosh. Writing this blog makes me hungry. But anyway, after we devoured the food, my tita gave me and my sister a bottle of wine. Not knowing that 7% alcohol is intoxicating, me and my sister drank it. The wine tastes SO FREAKIN' good that you'll actually forget that it's even wine. That's exactly what happened. Having the sweet taste of the wine, we drank half of the bottle. And by that time, we decided to stop since we still have classes the next day.

It didn't stop there. Before we sleep, we felt the alcohol reacting with our body. My sister and I turned red. And the rest is history. lol. It was hilarious.

And the lesson of this blog is that: 7% alcohol is VERRYYY intoxicating. never doubt that. x]]

origin of the rivalry.

Since the end of the Ateneo-La Salle championship last UAAP Season 71, I started to wonder what is REALLY the origin of their rivalry. It was just then that i first witnessed the battle of the Eagles and the Archers. And it was only until now that I decided to research about it. [yeah. i did a little research.] and I was shocked to see that it actually has a Wikipedia page. lol. I also searched a lot of forums. [no spamming. xD]

Based on what I read, it started out in the Juniors Division. It was at NCAA then and it was La Salle Green Hills vs. Ateneo de Manila High School. But the rivalry between LSGH and ADMHS disappeared when Ateneo joined the UAAP. Instantly, ADMHS became rivals with the De La Salle-Santiago Zobel School.

It was believed that the rivalry between the ADMU and DLSU started at the NCAA championships in 1939. It was a series of games wherein Ateneo lost against La Salle. Then the next day, La Sallians threw fried chicken on the streets and on the gate of the Ateneo campus (which was then in Manila)

That's all I've read. haha. It made sense to me anyway. Just plain sports rivalry.

P.S. people say that watching an Ateneo-La Salle game is epic cause one side of the arena is green and one side is blue and everyone is standing up cheering for their school, alma matter or just simply a fan. Even politicians, celebrities and the richest Filipinos take their break just to witness a sensational game by the Eagles and the Archers!

days have passed and not yet over it.

yay for the Ateneo Blue Eagles another wonderful and victorious UAAP season! it was well-deserved and you could see it by the way they play. they play just as fair and nothing less, nothing more.

The Blue Eagles owned the Game 1. From beginning 'till end. UE definitely had a hard time adjusting to Ateneo's well defense. Another factor was Jai Reyes' almost-perfect outside shots. He has 6 attempts and shot 5 of it. Giving UE a hard time to catch up. It wasn't only Jai who stepped up to the place, all of them did. They played great defense and great offense as well. In the end of Game 1, Ateneo Blue Eagles prevailed over the UE Red Warriors with a 7-point lead. (78-71)

Meanwhile, UE proved unstoppable and determined in Game 2. From beginning to end, UE thwarted Ateneo. Forcing the Blue Eagles to a Game 3. Ateneo struggled throughout the game with a lot of outside shots missed and a poorly-executed defense which led to their 20-point loss. Elmer Espiritu paved way for UE with 22 points and 4 rebounds. UE was well off compared to Ateneo with a score of 88-68.

Third Game was expected to be a massive war and indeed it was. The Blue Eagles not only proved their domination but also their determination to win a back-to-back title.

The Blue Eagles started and finished an excellent game. By the end of the first half, they already have a 15-point lead against UE. And in the second half, they proved unstoppable with sensational plays by center Rabeh Al-Hussaini and guard Jai Reyes as well as well-executed assists from Eric Salamat, Ryan Buenafe and Nonoy Baclao.

In the end, the Blue Eagles were successful in building up their dynasty as they won back-to-back for the first time since 1987 and 1988.

Another great year indeed for the Blue Eagles which are also celebrating their sesquiecentenial year this December 2009.

And of course I couldn't possibly forget the Ateneo Blue Eaglets who also won their back-to-back title.

Congrats, Blue Eagles and Eaglets!

the best goes to you.
